No work files
You won't miss the feature from the old SM-Reports.

Work files were the solution to the problem of non-networked computers back in the early days of SM-Reports. Work files could be distributed on diskettes which teachers could open anywhere to do their reports. Today with SM-Reports work files are still used, but are normally stored on a network drive, or in some cases emailed to teachers.

Unfortunately, work files are the weakest "feature" of old SM-Reports. Ask any SM-Reports Administrator if they have problems with work files getting corrupted, or not updating and the answer will be affirmative. Then there is the issue of class lists changing and work files needing to be synchronised to keep them up-to-date.

With SM-Reports Online the need for work files has been eliminated. Work files simply do not exist, and the potential problems they can produce have been eliminated. With SM-Reports Online teacher's now enter information into the same database as every other teacher, and the same database that the administrator uses. There is nothing to lose, get out of sync with, or update from.

Maintaining work files was the most unproductive part of the old SM-Reports, and it has been removed from SM-Reports Online. Leaving you with more time for more productive activities.
